The 7 Wonders of Future Cities is a new global initiative by New7Wonders celebrating the world’s most visionary urban developments. It invites people everywhere to discover, nominate, apply, and then vote for cities and districts that best embody innovation, sustainability, and human progress.
The campaign is organized by Global Platorm Limited, under the authority of New7Wonders, the global movement behind the New 7 Wonders of the World, the New 7 Wonders of Nature, and other thematic and national campaigns, which together have engaged over 600 million votes worldwide.
A Future City is any built, planned and being built, or evolving urban development that integrates technology, design, and sustainability to improve quality of life, while restoring balance between people and the planet.
As with all New7Wonders campaigns, these evolve across nomination and then eventually voting phases. See here.
City authorities, developers, and owners can officially apply to become Participants, and all members of the public can in the meantime propose Participants for consideration as well. Any legitimate urban project that meets the campaign’s criteria may be submitted.
If I represent or own a city or development, I can apply. If I support or believe a city or development should join the campaign, I can propose it. And then, from October 2026, everyone can participate by voting and choosing what will become then the 7 Wonders of Future Cities, officially announced on World Cities Day 2027.
The 7 Wonders of Future Cities campaign celebrates how cities are reimagining themselves for a sustainable future, inspiring collaboration, innovation, and hope for the generations to come.
