TUMANYAN PARK & SMART MOBILITY
YEREVAN
Armenia
The renovation of Tumanyan Park and Yerevan’s transport overhaul highlight the city’s focus on tech-driven public spaces and modern infrastructure. Tumanyan Park, managed by TUMO, blends green recreation with digital innovation. In 2025, Yerevan introduced a Smart Mobility reform, replacing old microbuses with a unified, digital public transport network.
Tumanyan Park, a 7-hectare green space in Ajapnyak overlooking the Hrazdan River, was revitalised in 2009–2010 and is now managed by the TUMO Centre, creating a lively campus-like environment. Yerevan’s Smart Mobility reform, launched January 1, 2025, replaced cash-based marshrutkas with a digital-ticketed fleet of MAN and Zhongtong buses.

Environmental & Nature
Tumanyan Park uses automatic irrigation and preserves the Hrazdan Gorge, serving as a key green space for the city. The transport reform cuts emissions by replacing old minibuses with Euro 6 buses and expanding electric trolleys. Yerevan’s Green Deal encourages municipal buildings to adopt energy-efficient measures and solar power.
Smart City
Tumanyan Park hosts the TUMO Centre, a leading free tech school for teens, offering Wi-Fi and promoting digital literacy. Yerevan’s transport now uses a cashless Unified Ticketing System via QR codes, NFC cards, or bank cards. A Traffic Management Centre, planned for 2026, will use smart signals and real-time data to optimise traffic and bus schedules.
Human-Centric
Tumanyan Park offers sports fields, playgrounds, and cultural landmarks from Tumanyan’s opera “Anoush,” serving all age groups. Yerevan’s new low-floor buses improve accessibility for people with disabilities, while the unified system provides subsidised fares for students, pensioners, and social groups.
