TAOYUAN CITY
Taiwan
Taoyuan Aerotropolis is a large-scale urban development centred around Taiwan Taoyuan International Airport in Taoyuan City. Designed to transform the airport and its surroundings into a world-class transportation, logistics, and industrial hub, it plays a crucial role in Taiwan’s international trade and technological advancement.
Taoyuan Aerotropolis is a 4,500-hectare development planned around Taiwan Taoyuan International Airport, integrating zones for transportation, logistics, industry, residential, and recreational use. It is one of Taiwan’s largest national infrastructure projects, expected to create 200,000-300,000 jobs, generate NT$2.3 trillion (US$75.4 billion) in annual revenue, and handle 4.5 million tonnes of container cargo yearly. The project balances industrial growth with smart urban planning, including airport expansion with a third runway and a new terminal, spearheaded by central and local governments.
