Smart Village in Egypt’s 6th of October City is a pioneering high-technology business district and integrated business park, established by Presidential Decree No. 355 in 2000 with operations starting in 2001. Spanning 2.5 million square meters, it hosts over 180 companies, 94 operating buildings, and 700,000 square meters of office space, serving as a hub for IT, telecom, finance, and innovation under a public-private partnership model. Located on the Cairo-Alexandria Desert Road, it emphasizes technological clusters, R&D centres, and professional services to foster economic growth and knowledge exchange.

Smart Village was created to drive Egypt’s digital economy by attracting multinational corporations, local firms, government entities, and educational institutions to a modern, secure campus-like environment. The development features a 25 km road network, 80 green spaces, conference centres, fitness facilities, educational areas, and diverse dining options within a gated community employing around 65,000 people. Major tenants include Telecom Egypt, Vodafone, Microsoft, IBM, and banks like CIB and Banque Misr, supported by 24/7 fibre optic connectivity and comprehensive facility management.
