Smart City Laguna is an innovative urban development project located in Croatá, Ceará, Brazil, and is recognised as the world’s first affordable smart city. Designed to provide high-quality, cost-effective housing combined with cutting-edge technology and sustainable urban planning, the project aims to improve the quality of life for thousands of residents while fostering environmentally responsible growth.
The development offers varied housing units from 50 to 80 square metres, complemented by 5,877 land plots planned with integrated commercial and institutional areas. It is strategically positioned near Fortaleza and the port of Pecém, benefiting local workers by offering accessible housing. The city features wide avenues, green spaces including a central landscaped lagoon, bicycle paths, and modern infrastructure with smart solutions such as water reuse systems and energy-efficient utilities.
