Proposed Participant

Ongos Valley is envisioned as Namibia’s largest single residential project designed to provide affordable, quality housing and integrated urban living. The project is supported by the City of Windhoek and the Namibian government, responding to urban growth challenges by creating a vibrant community with schools, hospitals, retail centres, and green spaces included as essential infrastructure.

Ongos Valley is a large-scale, mixed-use residential development project located on the outskirts of Windhoek, Namibia. Covering approximately 1,743 hectares, about 14 kilometers northwest of Windhoek’s Central Business District, it aims to address Namibia’s housing shortage by building 28,000 housing units over 20-30 years, creating a self-sustaining, walkable new city within the capital’s metropolitan area. The development spans seven phases, with the initial phase currently delivering 4,500 homes. Its mixed-use concept integrates residential housing, commercial facilities, educational institutions, and healthcare infrastructure. Ongos Valley emphasizes reducing commuter dependency through local amenities and services.
