The New Administrative Capital (NAC) of Egypt is a visionary urban development project initiated to alleviate congestion in Cairo and to serve as the seat of government and a modern hub for business, culture and technology. It is transforming Egypt’s urban landscape with state-of the art infrastructure and sustainable urban planning. 

It is a strategically planned smart city located about 45 km east of Cairo, positioned between Greater Cairo and the Suez Canal corridor to enhance national connectivity and economic growth. Designed to accommodate around 6.5 million residents in a total area of approximately 700 sq km. The city’s masterplan features a diverse mix of residential, administrative, and recreational uses and a wide range of amenities. It will help to strengthen and diversify the country’s economic potential by creating new places to live, work and visit.

Environmental & Nature

City’s sustainability project includes large-scale green infrastructure “Green River Park”, planned water features and targets for modern utilities and utilities management as part of its masterplan, intending to provide improved environmental quality versus conventional sprawl. The state information service and NAC materials present these park and green-space commitments.

Smart City

It is positioned as an innovation and business hub, with dedicated areas for technology, smart services, and a planned ICT backbone in support of government, financial, and business operations. ACUD, the Administrative Capital Urban Development company, describes the city’s mandate to position NAC as a centre for innovation and investment.

Human-Centric

It has economic, recreational, and administrative activities strive to attract residents and investors, making the New Administrative Capital a smart, connected, and eco-friendly city. The NAC masterplan consist of mixed-use neighbourhoods, government services clustered together into a single Government District, cultural and civic buildings (mosques, large cathedral), hospitals and schools – all to create a live-work-learn urban environment and reduce long cross-city commutes.
