Mauritius

Proposed Participant

Mauritius Smart City Scheme encompasses a network of integrated urban developments across the island, launched by the Economic Development Board (EDB) to foster innovation, sustainable growth, and high-quality living. Approved projects like Moka Smart City, Verdaches, and others transform greenfield sites into mixed-use hubs blending residential, commercial, and leisure spaces, attracting global investors via residency incentives.

These smart cities feature luxury villas, apartments, townhouses, international schools, hospitals, shopping districts, golf courses, and innovation parks within master-planned layouts connected by efficient roads and public transport. Moka Smart City, for instance, spans 213 hectares with 12,000 residents, offices for tech firms, and green corridors, while others like Cascavelle and Azuri emphasize waterfront living and business ecosystems.
