Gujarat International Finance Tec-City (GIFT City) is India’s first operational greenfield smart city and an International Financial Services Centre (IFSC). Conceived as a global financial and technology hub, it aims to attract the world’s leading financial institutions and tech firms by providing top-tier infrastructure, a competitive regulatory environment, and a high quality of life.
Strategically located between Gujarat’s capital city, Gandhinagar, and its major urban center, Ahmedabad, GIFT City is a sprawling 886-acre project. It is designed as a vertical city with a central business district featuring iconic skyscrapers, a multi-level utility corridor (India’s first), and a fully automated waste collection system. The city is a flagship initiative of the Government of India and the Government of Gujarat, envisioned to rival leading global financial centre and a smart future city.

Sustainability is central, with GIFT City achieving India’s first Platinum Green City rating. It employs district cooling, smart water management, and automated waste systems to optimize resource use and reduce environmental impact. With over 60% of the area reserved for green and open spaces, it promotes a low-carbon, walkable urban environment.
Smart City
It is technologically advanced, that integrates high-speed fiber connectivity, intelligent urban systems, and underground utility tunnels for electricity, water, and communications, making it India’s first digging-free city. Its digital infrastructure supports real-time monitoring, automated billing, and smart grids, ensuring seamless operations and sustainability.
Human-Centric
It is designed as a “walk-to-work” city with integrated residential zones, recreational facilities, and social infrastructure. It offers international schools, a world-class hospital, and retail outlets within the city limits. The focus is on creating a live-work-play ecosystem that attracts and retains global talent by ensuring a high standard of living and convenience.
