EUROPACITY
BERLIN MUNICIPALITY
Germany
Europacity is a major Berlin urban project, turning a former railway yard near Hauptbahnhof into a lively new district. It aims to be a mixed-use “city of short distances,” blending homes, offices, culture, and leisure in one vibrant area.
Europacity, in Berlin-Mitte, covers about 61 hectares between the main station and Spandau Ship Canal. It will offer around 3,000 apartments and 16,500 jobs, organized into sub-quarters like Quartier Heidestrasse and Wasserstadt Mitte. Heidestrasse is being expanded as a central boulevard connecting the district.
