CALGARY EAST VILLAGE
ALBERTA
Canada
Calgary East Village is a landmark urban regeneration district located at the eastern edge of downtown Calgary, Alberta, Canada. Formerly an industrial and underserved area, it has been transformed into a vibrant, sustainable, and connected mixed-use neighbourhood through a comprehensive master planning effort led by the Calgary Municipal Land Corporation (CMLC) since 2007.
The East Village redevelopment encompasses public realm improvements, new residential and commercial developments, and cultural hubs such as Studio Bell (National Music Centre). It features a network of riverside parks, pedestrian-friendly streets, and green infrastructure addressing flood protection. A notable development is the Platform Innovation Centre and Parkade, blending parking with an innovation hub for Calgary’s technology sector, fostering start-up ecosystems and digital collaboration
