BELMONT
Maricopa County, Arizona
United States
Belmont is an ambitious plan to build a “smart city” from the ground up, located approximately 40 to 50 miles west of Phoenix, Arizona. The project involves transforming a vast area of desert land (about 25,000 to 28,000 acres) into a cutting-edge, purpose-built edge city. Backed by an investment firm associated with Bill Gates, the vision is to create an urban hub driven by technology and innovation. The blueprint includes 80,000 residential units, 3,800 acres for office, commercial, and retail space, and 470 acres for public schools. With a projected size and population comparable to Tempe, Arizona, Belmont aims to utilise a flexible infrastructure model focused on both state-of-the-art technology and sustainability.
