BAHRAIN BAY DEVELOPMENT

MANAMA

Bahrain

Proposed Participant

Bahrain Bay is an exclusive waterfront urban development located off the northeast coast of Manama, Bahrain’s capital city. Initiated in 2005, the project transforms reclaimed land into a modern mixed-use district designed to support economic diversification and urban growth. Developed by Arcapita and planned by Skidmore, Owings & Merrill (SOM), Bahrain Bay stands as a flagship for Bahrain’s strategic vision to create a world-class waterfront community.

Covering approximately 432,000 square metres, Bahrain Bay comprises three reclaimed islands connected to the mainland by causeways. The masterplan features a variety of buildings, including corporate headquarters like Arcapita’s global office, luxury hotels such as the Four Seasons, residential towers including Golden Gate and Waterbay complexes, and institutional offices like Al Baraka Banking Group. The development integrates a mixed-use boulevard, extensive public green spaces, and a waterfront promenade. Infrastructure includes modern utility substations, potable water reservoirs, and advanced road networks supporting accessibility and connectivity.
