Qianhai is a special commercial zone in Shenzhen, China, created in 2010 to strengthen cooperation between Mainland China and Hong Kong. Refered as a “Special Zone in the Special Zone,” it focuses on modern services and industrial reform. Today, it plays a key role in the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area (GBA).

Qianhai is located on the west bank of Qianhai Bay in Shenzhen’s Nanshan District. It focuses on modern services like finance, logistics, IT, and technology. The aim is to become a major service hub in the Asia-Pacific region. The zone also offers tax benefits, including a 15% income tax rate for eligible companies and individuals.

Environmental & Nature

The development includes initiatives for green and sustainable urban development. This involves creating a low-carbon, smart energy infrastructure. IoT sensors are deployed for environmental monitoring to track air quality and water pollution, allowing for real-time responses to environmental issues.

Smart City

Qianhai is being developed as a Smart City using technologies like AI, block chain, and cloud computing. It tests cross-border smart services and financial innovations with 5G networks and AI-based traffic systems. Digital platforms have improved government efficiency and made administration more transparent.

Qianhai attracts talent by offering a comfortable lifestyle and one-stop services for international professionals. The Qianhai Youth Entrepreneur Innovation Hub supports young entrepreneurs, especially from Hong Kong and Macao. Its Smart City system also includes a digital platform that gathers citizen feedback to improve city planning.
